The 2019 Utah State University Student Association candidates have been announced. Their names, majors and platforms are below.

Braden Tomlinson

Platform: I want all students to feel a welcome friendship at sporting events, revamp the crazy Aggie crowd we once had, and for them to know they have someone who is a voice for them, not a voice to them.

Goals and plans for office: Implement program to increase involvement and awareness for freshmen business majors, improve the advising experience for students, recruit diverse companies to the business school, improve the Huntsman School Career Development Services, continue transparency efforts on differential tuition, scholarships, and resources.

Major: international business and marketing
Campaign platform: as Business Senator, I will represent the voice of the students by improving transparency, increasing student engagement, providing ample opportunities for networking and job placement, and creating a more inclusive environment, especially for women, freshman, and transfer students.
Qualifications: Current Managing Director of Business Council, 2018-2019, works directly with current HSB Senator and Dean’s office, represented the HSB as SEED ambassador and as intern in Peru, leadership experience in a non-profit research organization, executes current Senator’s platform & facilitates HSB events.
Goals and plans for office: Increase visibility of student resources, such as: scholarships, internship/travel opportunities, & career coaches, empower voices that often aren’t represented adequately, including: female students, freshman, & transfer students, create better channels of communication between students & administration through monthly round-table discussions, provide ample opportunities for networking and job placement for all business majors, Help students realize the Huntsman Advantage’ & their role in making Jon M. Huntsman’s vision a reality.
