66 run for ASUSU

Next week, Utah State University students will begin the voting process for next year’s student government, and this year’s officers hope to see a higher-than-usual voter turnout.

Voting in the primary elections for next year’s Associated Students of USU Executive Council will be Feb. 22 and 23, and final voting will be the following week on Feb. 28 and March 1.

As one of its final goals for the semester, this year’s council hopes to see a high voter turnout of somewhere around 33 percent, said ASUSU President Ben Riley.

If the number of candidates is any indication of interest in this year’s election, turnout should be high.

Sixty-six USU students have declared candidacy for the 21 elected offices available.
