Campus Activies (F.Y.I.) for Jan. 26, 2007

• The Fusion Theatre Project presents the world premiere of Scope part of “A Night in Iraq: Perspectives on War” running January 26, 27, 31 and February 1-3 at the Caine Lyric Theatre, 28 West Center St. in Logan. • Racquetball tournament, Saturday, January 27, 9 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Registration is $8 and includes a t-shirt, prizes and fun. Anyone is welcome to play. Sign ups in HPER Building room 142 for beginning, intermediate and advanced.

• Applications are available for membership in the USU chapter of PINNACLE, the national reentry honor society. For more information contact the call 797-1728. Application deadline is January 29.

• Students, faculty, and staff: Please join our Mindfulness Meditation Group. This 8-week program will begin Tuesday, February 5, 11:30 am. Participants will receive instruction in mindfulness meditation, body awareness, and gentle movement. Exercises for daily practice will be provided. For information on participating in this program, please call the Counseling Center at 797-1012.

• Learn about study abroad opportunities at the University of Leicester, England Monday, January 29, 2:30 – 3:30 p.m. TSC East Colony Room 223. There will be a representative from the University Leicester to share information about the programs and opportunities available there or stop by our table in the hall of the TSC, first floor 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

• CAPSA Benefit concert, Saturday, January 27, 8 p.m. Nelson Recreation Center, room 102. Local bands The First Chance Sell Outs, Joshua James and Night Nights performing. Tickets $3 with USU ID, $4 without. Doors open at 7:30. All proceeds benefit victims of domestic violence and rape in Cache Valley.

• The whole family is invited to join Stokes Nature Center on Saturday, January 27, 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. for snowshoe adventures. Snowshoes will be provided. Location to be determined based on snow conditions. Space is limited, pre-registration is required. Costs are $8 ($6 for SNC members) $25 group rate for 5.
