A-Day stacked with activities

A week of showcasing school pride and service reaches its peak with the Student Alumni Association’s A-Day festivities Friday on the Quad.

A-Day, a tradition at USU since 1910, will bring USU students and the community together to raise money for the Red Cross.

Activities on the quad will include booths of student clubs and organizations as well as private vendors from Cache Valley, including Café Sabor, said SAA member Meghan Johnson. Johnson, a junior majoring in social work, is the organization’s vice president in charge of A-week activities.

“It’s a great way to get involved and show school pride,” Johnson said. “Besides that, it’s fun.”

Live music on the quad will feature bands Hasenpfeffer and the Bomdiggity, Swil and Justin Hopkins. There will also be food, games, and prizes available.

A-Day on the quad lasts from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. In case of inclement weather, activities will be moved to the field house.

Other activities for the day include the A-day concert and dance from 8:30 p.m. to 11:45 p.m. in the TSC Sunburst lounge. Admission is $3 or $2 with a can of food.

The week of events ends at midnight with the time honored tradition of “True Aggie Night” at the platform “A” in front of Old Main.
