USU professor will speak on national radio about future war
Between 11 p.m. and 4 a.m. is the time of day normally ruled by insomniacs, security guards and caffeine-fueled college students preparing for finals, Hugo de Garis, a Utah State University professor, will be warning more than 10 million people about the war he feels is inevitable.
“I’m excited, I just hope I don’t fall asleep during the interview,” de Garis said. “I’m normally not up that late.”
De Garis will be speaking about his book “The Artilect War,” in which he predicts a massive war being fought over the building of massively powerful Artificial Intelligences.
With the other guests this week specializing in such topics as U.S. intelligence agencies siphoning tax dollars and the occult, Coast to Coast AM with George Noory is a radio program that allows those in the scientific community to expose people to topics not normally discussed.
De Garis feels the show is a great opportunity to get his message out and have people start talking about it.
“I had a friend who was listening and read my book and thought Coast to Coast would be ideal,” de Garis said.
Several of his colleagues, who agree that such massively powerful AI will happen but don’t feel it will lead to the war de Garis is predicting, have already appeared on the program, including Ray Kurzweil, the founder of Kurzweil Technologies and many other high tech companies.
Every night Coast to Coast can be heard locally on KVNU 610 AM. The program will begin at 11 p.m. with de Garis being featured from midnight to 3 a.m.
