Utah Statesman: How did you get started in track and field?

Kelli Burton: My brother was doing it in high school when I was in junior high, and somehow he talked me into doing it.

US: What is your favorite event to compete in and why?

KB: I like to compete in the discus because it is a lot more relaxed than other events, and I have fun throwing it.

US: What are your track and field goals for this season?

KB: I just want to go to NCAA Championships and compete well at it.

US: What superstitions do you have about when you compete?

KB: I don’t really have any superstitions.

US: How do you relax at a stressful meet?

KB: I hang out with some of my friends on the team. My brother also helps out a lot.

US: What type of attributes do you look for in a guy?

KB: I like a someone who is athletic, likes to work out, and has a good sense of humor.

US: If you had the opportunity to be the star of a reality television show, which one would you pick and why?

KB: I’m not a real fan of reality television, but if I had to pick I would say “Survivor,” just because it would be cool to visit and live in some remote place. Plus you could win $1 million dollars.

US: Where would you consider the best vacation spot to be and why?

KB: Bora Bora, because it is supposed to be one of the best places in the world to visit, and I love the tropical places.

US: What type of things do you do for fun?

KB: Since my schedule is usually pretty busy, I mostly like to just hang out with friends and relax when I have the time.

US: What is your favorite movie and your favorite line or scene in that movie?

KB: My favorite movie is “Bad Boys” with Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, but I don’t really have a favorite scene or line in that movie.
