After being off for more than a week, the Utah State women’s basketball team was back in action Thursday when it hosted Louisiana Tech. USU beat the Lady Techsters 70-56.

The Aggies improve to 15-11 on the season with the win and 12-3 in WAC play. La Tech falls to 12-14 and 8-7 in league play.

Junior Jennifer Schlott paced the Aggies with 19 points, six steals and four assists. Senior Devyn Christensen had 16 points, six assists and three steals.

It was a good first half for the Aggies, who took a 26-11 lead into halftime. USU was led by Schlott who had nine points to go with three steals and two assists. Christensen chipped in with seven points.

The second half played much differently than the first. La Tech was able to get second chance points and cut the USU lead to five points with just under 10 minutes to play. The Aggies withstood the comeback and survived any late rally by the Lady Techsters.

USU’s next game will be Saturday night when they take on UT Arlington at the Spectrum for senior night. Christensen, Jenna Johnson and Pualei Furtado will be honored before the game. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
