War Debate Must End

bhhinton@cc.usu.edu

As coalition troops continue their march through Iraq, the debate continues here at home as to whether or not we should be over there in the first place. I don’t think I stand alone in saying that I’m sick of it!! Both sides of the arguement continue to go on like they could still change the situation. One side will come out with their extreme, radical views on the subject which cuases the other side to get so disgusted that they come out and present their own extreme, radical views proclaiming, “This is how it really is.” No, this is how it really is people: We are at war. End of story. Right or wrong, we are in Iraq and we’re not leaving until the job is done. It’s time to just shut up and support the troops. No more war rallies. No more peace rallies. No more articles about how this just for the Iraqi people. No more articles about how this just for oil. No more articles about how anybody who opposes the war is anti-patriotic. No more Leon D’Souza editorials about how anyone who supports the war is a “hawk” or warmonger. The issue is over. Who cares who won or lost the debate. The troops need our support and we should give it to them. After all, they did join the military to fight for us. Not to fight just for Republicans, or just Democrats, but every one of us. The least we can do for them is stop the turmoil at home and move on. -Bryan Hinton348-76-3009
