BLOTTER: Police news from the Campus and Community

March 28, 2003

A USU Bookstore employee reported a theft. A subsequent attempt by the suspect led to a police interview, and the individual was arrested for two counts of theft and booked into the Cache County Jail.

March 29, 2003

Police responded to a suspicious incident at Merrill Hall involving a shopping cart being thrown from the roof. Four students were later arrested for disorderly conduct.

Police met with some individuals drinking alcohol in the University Inn parking lot. They were all over 21 and asked to leave campus with a designated driver.

March 31, 2003

USU police assisted Cache County Sheriff’s Office with a lewdness report near Second Dam.

A USU employee reported that someone had scratched the side of her vehicle while it was parked in the Parking Terrace. Police are investigating.

April 1, 2003

Police received a report of damage done to an emergency exit door on the south side of Merrill Library. Total damage is estimated at $500.

April 2, 2003

Campus Police assisted North Park Police with an arrest at a campus residence. An individual wanted on a probation violation was located on campus and taken into custody.

Police responded to a report of a student crashing on his bicycle and injuring his arm. The victim refused any medical attention and was transported to the hospital by his mother. An individual stated to Logan police that he just saw several people running from Gonzales Fine Meat store with boxes.

April 3, 2003

Logan police received a report of a brown dog that is not tied to a leash. It comes out of the home across the street and barks and threatens the complainant when she’s outside.

Police responded to Mountain View Tower on a report of disorderly activity taking place. Two individuals were arrested for disorderly conduct.

April 4, 2003

Logan police received a report of a single, stray sheep running loose.

A caller stated that a male and female duck have taken up residency outside of the building on the west side of the mall.

A complainant stated to Logan police that a dentist office billed her twice for a service, and she paid twice and would like to know what she can do. This occurred sometime in 1999.

A person reported a pickup heading eastbound with individuals doing handstands in the bed of the truck.

A teenager was reported for using a fake ID to try to buy beer.
