Clegg named top Aggie
Utah Statesman: How do you feel about receiving recognition as Utah State’s top student athlete?
Ally Clegg: It’s definitely an honor because there are a lot of great athletes at USU.
US: What are your goals for this season?
AC: Winning the Big West Conference is our team goal. A personal goal is to feel like I’ve left everything out on the field after every game.
US: How do you feel your progress is coming with these goals?
AC: Great so far. Our team is doing awesome. If we keep the pace we are going at, we definitely are going to be contenders for the championship.
US: What has been your most memorable moment playing for USU?
AC: I can’t think of a particular game, but what I’m going to take from USU is the girls and coaches I’ve worked with. When I think of memories it will be of them.
US: How do you feel about your new head coach, Heather Cairns?
AC: I really like her. She’s great for the program. I think she’ll continue to do great things for the program. She’s really positive. That is what I like about her. Also, she really believes that we can succeed and that is a great coach.
US: Why did you choose to attend USU?
AC: Actually, at first I didn’t want to come to USU. Then I came up here on a recruiting trip and I had so much fun that I knew I needed to come up here and I’ve never regretted that decision.
US: You had a great game against Nevada. How did that feel?
AC: Well, it always feels good to have a game where you’re on, but I don’t think I can say I had a good game without saying my teammates were right there. It feels great to play so well with your team.
