Learning to curl in Cache Valley

ABOVE: Gary Keiger, dean of the College of HASS, learns to curl Monday night at the George S. Eccles Ice Center.

BELOW: Two curling stones sit on the ice at the Ice Center. The stones are usually between 35 and 45 lbs. with a maximum weight of 45 lbs. The band on the bottom that touches the ice is shaped like a donut and is a quarter of an inch wide and three inches in diameter. The Ice Center offers curling classes every Monday night for the next 10 weeks. The Cache Valley Stone Society teaches the class.
