The Utah State University men’s tennis team will look for its second win of the season Saturday as it takes on the Air Force Academy. Play will begin at the Sports Academy at 10 a.m.

The Aggies are coming off an impressive 5-2 victory at Idaho State on Wednesday afternoon. The win marked the first time in 11 years USU has won in Pocatello.

USU won four of the six singles matches and two of three doubles matches en route to an impressive season-opening win.

Andreas Madersbacher, Jonah Nelson, Jason Trask and Steve Peterson were victorious in their singles matches, with Peterson capturing his match in a third set marathon.

Madersbacher and Clayton Thomas teamed up to defeat ISU’s No. 1 doubles team 8-6, and Nelson and Jordan Butler posted an 8-3 triumph over the No. 2 ISU team.

“It was a great win for us, considering we have never won in their facilities before,” Head Coach Chris Wright said. “It was a great effort by the whole team. Even the matches we lost were hard fought, close matches. We’ll get better.”
