Aggies beat New Mexico Highlands

Playing under a new coach with new uniforms to start a new season didn’t change winning ways for the Utah State women’s basketball team as the Aggies raced past New Mexico Highlands 82-71 in their first exhibition game of the year Friday.

Returning veterans Devyn Christensen and Jennifer Schlott led the Aggies with 32 and 13 points, respectively, and the Aggies built a 51-30 lead at the half.

Utah State shot 37 percent from the field for the game and finished 16-of-22 from the free throw line.

The Aggies will host their annual blue-and-white scrimmage Nov. 8 before kicking off the regular season on the road against in-state rival Utah Valley University on Nov 12. Both games are set to tip off at 7 p.m.
