LETTER: Let them drink Coke
To the editor:
So what if you have a contract with Coca Cola?
If there is such a conflict with your contract and the business that the Bookstore is doing with Coca Cola then why did Coca Cola agree to supply the book store with merchandise if they did not clear it through you? Why didn’t they add an amendment to your previous contract? Is it because there is no conflict? Is not the idea of free captalism the ability to provide a service or product for the consumer at a price that the consumer wants? Is it just that you are crying because the Bookstore and Coca Cola side-stepped you and didn’t ask for your blessing on their marriage?
I for one enjoy the fact that while shopping for scantrons, pencils, books, and other supplies that I don’t have to go wait in line at the Hub for a credit card to be processed or stop in at the Quick Stop for a Coke when I am already in line, wallet in hand ready to complete a transaction. I don’t want to stand in line somewhere else to pay more when I can get everything in one place.
