Where is the voice of opposition?
I met a lady about my age, we got to know each other, fell in love and got married. It is definitely one of the greatest things that has ever happened to me. I can’t imagine anything that would be more frustrating than if the government had tried to tell me that I wasn’t able to marry the one I loved. But that is what I see happening when I listen to the presidential speeches. The president is seeking a ban on gay marriages. I feel this would be a quantum leap backwards in our evolutionary development toward freedom. Discrimination has never worked, and it seems odd that so many people fail to see that this is what is going on. The president gives no supporting reasons for his constitutional amendment, he just says that he ‘feels’ that marriage should be between a man and a woman. Discrimination is discrimination – and I ‘feel’ that it is time that everyone consider what it would be like if they were being denied marriage, education or anything else for the matter. Only difference is, I don’t think the constitution should say so.
