BLOTTER: Police news from the campus and community

August 30: USU police responded to a suspicious person who was believed to be attempting to break into a girl’s dorm room. The incident was a joke on the girls set up by a roommate and her friend. The individuals were warned.

August 31:

USU police responded to a report of a bat in the Merrill Library. The bat was captured and released outside.

September 1:

USU Bomb Squad was called to assist the Cache County Sheriff’s Office with some old explosives that had been found on some property at Cache Junction. The explosives were destroyed.

September 2:

USU police responded to a phone alarm at the Parking Terrace. The alarm was activated by a 5-year-old girl who wondered what the button did.

September 3:

Logan police received a report of an injured cow. The complainant was concerned for its well being. A woman reported to Logan police that her 6-year-old son is refused to go to school and locked himself in his sister’s room.

An individual called Logan police with questions regarding the laws for jogging on the street.

A caller reported to Logan police that he stole $1 from a woman at the Aquatic Center.September 4:

Logan police received report that the roosters are crowing.

A woman stated to Logan police that there is an ongoing problem with a neighbor’s dog running loose and chasing children. The dog chased her daughter and caused her alarm. An individual reported to Logan police that earlier this day some neighbor kids came into his grandmother’s residence throwing things and took some cookies.

September 5:

A woman stated to Logan police that someone replaced their American flag with a Mexican national flag on their front lawn. Smaller Mexican flags were placed on their lawn as well.

Logan police received report from a caller that believes she witnessed three individuals at the Flying J who were on Utah’s Most Wanted list.

September 6:

An individual reported to Logan police that a badly injured cat was found in her backyard. She wanted to report it in case it may have been attacked by a mountain lion. Logan police received a call from an individual who had fallen and could not get up.

A man reported a stray German shepherd causing problems at a yard sale.

Logan police received a report of a man in an electric wheelchair traveling in a lane of traffic.
