ASUSU: Public Relations VP

Marcie Young

Camey Hatch, a public relations major and Japanese minor, is the only person on the ballot for public relations vice president in the upcoming election. Although there’s room for two write-ins, Hatch is getting ready to fill the spot.

“I was totally born an Aggie,” Hatch said.

Ambitious and ready-to-go, Hatch said she enjoys the element of service behind the scenes.

“I don’t care if I’m the one getting the glory,” she said. “I love doing the work.”

Hatch has been at Utah State University since the fall of 1997 and has been working with university publicity since 1999.

She said she hopes to be a facilitator, troubleshoot and organize communication needs for Associated Students of USU.

The position also handles all publicity for ASUSU, initiates polls to target student needs, coordinates efforts between the ASUSU committees and manages the ASUSU Web page.

Hatch said she plans on communicating with members of ASUSU through personal contact and by bringing a member of each committee on her team for direct interaction.

Hatch hopes to carry on the tradition of student representation at USU because “that’s what USU is all about,” she said.

Her goals include promoting Aggie spirit by making “everything available to everyone” by using a lot of mediums and reaching out to USU’s Extension students.”
