Professor presents her recent book English professor Jennifer Sinor will be discussing the subject of her forthcoming book, The Extraordinary Work of Ordinary Writing: Annie Ray’s Diary March 13 at the Haight Alumni Center. The presentation will be at 12:30 p.m., is free and a light lunch will be served. Sinor’s book is about everyday writing that may seem ordinary but is extraordinary. Sinor was inspired when she found her great-great-great aunt Annie Ray’s diary. “Annie’s writing is very bare-boned, sparse. It took me awhile to realize that what was compelling about her writing was not the few moments of story, but all the ordinary moments she’s able to capture,” Sinor said. Sinor’s book is set to be released in the fall of 2002.
