Gasoline prices continue to drop

Gasoline prices decreased by double digits this past month, despite the increase in the barrel price of crude oil, AAA Utah reports.

“The overall trend in lower prices should continue despite the increase in crude oil because prices remain at high levels and there are indications that gasoline inventories are starting to build in the United States,” said Rolayne Fairclough, AAA Utah spokeswoman.

The average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in Utah is now $1.67, a 13-cent decrease from last month, but a 19-cent increase from a year ago.

The national average price is $1.57, a 12-cent decrease from last month but a 12-cent increase from last year.
