LETTER: Ratted hair not found at USU

Editor,

I read the article “Ode to Utah girls with ratted hair” by Lindsay Kite in the Wednesday edition of The Statesman and was quite intrigued.

I’ve lived in Utah my entire life and I’ve seen a lot of hairstyles on girls here, and I’ve heard a lot of accents. I completely agree with her observation of the Utah accent. I have to admit that those large green and brown monstrosities to the East are mou’ans.

However, in the area of Utah girls with ratted hair I must say I’m a bit confused. After reading Lindsay’s article, my roommate and I set out on campus to discover this phenomenon. After observing more than 578 girls on campus we came up with a solid three hairstyles that could possibly be compared with the description given in her article. I just really don’t know what she’s looking at. Where can I find one of these rare specimens? Perhaps I could meet one of them up in the mou’ans.
