The Laub Center
I would like to address the article on the use of the Laub Center. Deanne Williams put it best when she explained that the Laub Center is on state and university land. That means that the University has the final say in the matter, not the athletic department, not Campus Rec. It’s true that the Atletic Dept. brings in millions of dollars of revenue, and don’t pay for the use of the center. But the USU clubs that don’t have the money have to pay $100 per hour. THAT’S RIDICULOUS! A possible remedy to the money issue could be a deposit. If there are damages to the facility during a team’s alloted time, then money would be taken from their deposit to fix the damages. The Laub Center should be used for any organized sport sponsered by the university, whether they be club or varsity.
