Nonprofit run held on Friday The Utah State University dietetics program will hold a Fun Run, Friday. The run will be sponsored by the Mayo Clinic and the dietetics program. Registration for participation in the event is free and will start at 2 p.m. at the Nutrition and Food Sciences Building. The race will start at 3 p.m. The race is a nonprofit event. INEEL invited to present process The April Professional Development Meeting for the Intermountain Chapter of the Society for Technical Communication will be held Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. Presentations on how graphic artists and technical writers produce quality productions and award-winning documents will be presented in the Science and Technology Library, Room 120. The Idaho National Engineering and Environmental Laboratory (INEEL) will present “INEEL’s Document Production Process” at the meeting. The INEEL has won awards in graphic design and technical communication. Presenters include Tad Pearson, department manager of publications, graphics and program support; and Craig Walker, functional lead, writing/editing and graphic arts. Pride! Day events hosted Thursday The Pride! Alliance is holding its annual Pride! Day Extravaganza April 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the Taggart Student Center patio. The festivities are held to celebrate diversity on campus. Kevin Alred will perform on his acoustic guitar and speakers will include Michael Mitchell, a Utah State University alumnus and director of Unity Utah, and Celestial Starr Bybee, Associated Students of Utah State University president-elect. Tables will be set up on the patio with materials from the Utah AIDS foundation, the very first Lavender Book for Northern Utah, Metropolitan Community Church in Ogden, Turning Point and the Logan Unitarian Universalists.

General Motors event held at TSC “Are you ready? Real Life” an event sponsored by Pontiac/Chevrolet and General Motors and 10 Utah State University students participating in a General Motors Marketing internship will be held Wednesday on the Taggart Student Center patio. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and is aimed at the students involved in the internship using what they’ve learned to promote their client Pontiac/Chevrolet. The event will include food, music and prizes. Prizes include a $400 gift certificate toward books or tuition, a gift certificate for two to a local restaurant and a T-shirt. Participants will also be able to participate in games as well as check out some of Pontiac and Chevrolet’s new brands.

HB331 changes to be discussed An informational meeting will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Taggart Student Center Auditorium to discuss necessary changes to HB331. The meeting will include students and the Associated Students of Utah State University discussing what will be done to make sure the Legislature makes the bill reasonable and fair. The Utah State Legislature will meet May 15 to discuss making changes to requirements for out-of-state students to get residency as set out in HB331.
