Kent Stanley named senior associate athletics director
Utah Kent Stanley has joined the Utah State Athletics Department assenior associate athletics director for development it was announced bydirector of athletics Scott Barnes on Friday. Stanley will officially beginhis duties at USU on August 4.
Stanley will be responsible for the overall administration, management andsupervision of athletic development and fundraising efforts, and associatedpersonnel for the athletics department. He will also focus on planning andexecuting capital and annual fund initiatives for athletics in conjunctionwith the University foundation

Prior to joining Utah State, Stanley spent two years as the director ofathletics at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colo. While at Fort Lewis,Skyhawk teams had the most successful two-year span in school history with12 teams making NCAA postseason play, while football won its first-everpostseason bowl game.
Stanley also increased the number of major gifts for athletics by 50 percentand increased revenue by 100 percent as he implemented a four-tieredcorporate partnership model to increase partner options. He also increasedlicensing revenue 45 percent and increased scholarship funding for athleticsby 25 percent.

Before being named director of athletics at Fort Lewis College, Stanleyspent five years at Eastern Washington as associate athletics director fordevelopment, working with Barnes who served as the director of athletics atEWU for six years. At Eastern Washington, he oversaw record growth inexternal revenue while managing the annual fund, major gifts and corporatepartnerships.
Stanley began his administrative career as the chief enrollment officer atSimpson University from 2000-01. He also spent eight years as a women¹sbasketball coach at Fresno Pacific University (1987-95) as his teams madefive NAIA National Tournament appearances while winning four conferencechampionships. He left Fresno Pacific with the most wins and highestwinning percentage of any basketball coach in school history.
He also won consecutive NAIA National Championships (1999, 2000) as the headcoach at Oklahoma City University and was honored as NAIA National Coach ofthe Year both seasons.
Stanley earned his undergraduate degree in psychology and physical educationfrom Trinity Western University and then earned his graduate degree fromFresno State in 1988 in athletic administration.
A native of British Columbia, Canada, Stanley and his wife Hollie have twochildren, Zachariah (9) and Mikayla (6).
