Utah State Volleyball Adds In-State Product

Utah State University head volleyball coach Grayson DuBoseannounced Monday that Shantell Durrant has joined the program and will begincompeting for the Aggies in the fall of 2008. The 6¹2 middle blocker willhave three years of remaining eligibility at USU.

Durrant, a native of American Fork, Utah, spent the past two years as amember of the nationally ranked University of Washington volleyball team asshe redshirted during the 2006 season before playing in nine games this pastyear.

³I am excited that Shantell has decided to become an Aggie and she will bean excellent addition to our program, said DuBose. ³Shantell has receivedexcellent training from her club coach, Jeremiah Larsen, and at theUniversity of Washington. She is a great blocker and has had greatexperience which will bring an added element into our gym for the next threeyears.

At American Fork High School, Durrant was a four-year letterwinner and teamcaptain two seasons as she earned third-team all-state honors as a senior.She was also a four-time academic all-region selection and a member of thehigh honor roll. Durrant played for the Summit Volleyball Club that placedsecond at the 2005 Big South Tournament in Atlanta and in the 2005Crossroads Tournament in Denver. During her prep career, she was also anhonorable mention all-state selection in basketball.
