Police Blotter: news from the campus and community
Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005
* USU Police responded to the mouth of Logan Canyon on a traffic accident. A tractor-trailer hauling hay had rolled over on the south shoulder of the roadway. There were no injuries and the truck was not blocking the lane of travel. USU Police remained on the scene until two Logan units arrived.
* USU Police responded to the Fine Arts building for a noise complaint. A play was being performed in the Morgan Theater and some students were out playing in the hallways. USU Police asked the students to leave the building.
* USU Police responded to a report of skateboarders near the Facilities building. Police made contact with two individuals and warned then for violating the university skateboarding policy.
Monday, Feb. 28, 2005
* USU Police responded to a report of an automobile accident in the southwest entrance of the Stadium parking lot. A University motor cart side swiped a University bus as the bus was making its way to leave the south entrance.There were no injuries or damage to report.
* USU Police responded to an elevator alarm. There was no complaint of anyone stuck in the elevator. Upon arrival, the elevator was working properly and no one was in need of assistance. The alarm was reset without incident.

* USU Police responded to a fire alarm at Valley View Tower. A resident burned some microwave popcorn in the common area. The alarm reset without incident.Wednesday, March 2, 2005
* USU Police responded to the Innovation Campus building on a fire alarm. Police arrived to assist the North Logan Fire Department on a heating coil that iced over in the building. Logan City Fire Department had to get on the roof to take care of the problem. Utah Power was also called to help.

* USU Police received a delayed report of an oven fire in an apartment in Aggie Village. A steak caught fire while broiling and the resident used a fire extinguisher to put the fire out. Police replaced the fire extinguisher
