Valedictorian for the College of Agriculture
Allison Scott has been chosen as the valedictorian for the College of Agriculture.
She will graduate with a major in nutrition food science, with an emphasis in culinary arts and a minor in management. Scott said she has always been interested in culinary arts and after a high school competition knew it was what she wanted to go into. Scott said she chose USU because it is the only university in Utah that had a culinary arts program. Scott is from Highland, Utah and said she has enjoyed living in Logan.
“I really liked the campus environment, it’s really student friendly. Logan is a beautiful place,” Scott said.
Interpersonal communications has been Scott’s favorite class and she said she hasn’t had a teacher at USU she hasn’t liked.
“(Interpersonal communications) sounds big, but it was really useful and interesting,” Scott said. “I have not had a professor who hasn’t helped me in some way. I’ve learned a lot from all of them.”
Scott plans to work this summer and next fall with a catering company called Heritage Gardens in Sandy, Utah. Scott is currently applying to Cornell. She said she wants to get her masters from Cornell in management and hospitality.
