LETTER: Nordic United a needed group

I would like to commend the efforts of Nordic United this past winter in bringing back groomed ski trails to the Logan area.

Nordic United is a new non-profit group that is committed to improving non-motorized winter recreational opportunities and has amassed some amazing volunteers. Two Nordic United members in particular, Kevin Kobe and John Louviere, have spent countless hours grooming the USU HPER Field and Green Canyon.

It is a treat to not have to drive far to go cross country skiing on a groomed track. These areas are now used by hundreds of Cache Valley residents on a weekly basis. I am looking forward to the Second Annual Spring Stampeded cross country ski race that Nordic United is sponsoring in Franklin Basin on March 5.

For many years Logan has needed a group like this to harness the energy and enthusiasm of the nordic ski community. The efforts of Nordic United are increasing the quality of living in Logan!
