BLOTTER: Police news from the campus and community

Feb. 21, 2003 USU Police responded to the theft of a parking gate arm from the C-1 parking lot. The item was not found in the area and there is no apparent damage to the parking mechanism.

A large tractor trailer rolled away from its parking spot on the north side of the TSC and crashed into a cement embankment and knocked over a tree. It required two tow trucks to extract it from the embankment.

Police received a report of a USU bus running a red light. Police investigated the incident and cited the driver for a red light violation.

An individual in the Engineering Building was making students uncomfortable with some unusual behavior.

Police responded to an intrusion alarm in the Business building. Several individuals were found playing games in the building. They were not involved with the alarm, but were asked to leave the area.

Feb. 22, 2003 USU Police investigated a report of a suspicious individual hiding in the bushes around the east side of the Junction. The individual was whispering, “Come over here,” to the female residents as they walked by.

A caller reported to Logan Police that the tenants in the next apartment were being too loud and making all sorts of unusual noises.

Feb. 25, 2003 An instructor of the Children’s Lab in the Family Life building reported a man exposing himself to her from the playground on the south side of the building.

An individual stated to Logan Police that the people who live above are jumping up and down and causing the pictures to fall off the walls.

Feb. 27, 2003 Police responded to Old Main on a report that a backpack was left in the bushes. The bag was located and police learned that it was being used for a game that was being conducted by the ROTC.

March 1, 2003 Logan police received a report from Wal-Mart that some teens in a vehicle had some loud speakers with which they were yelling profanity at customers.

Logan Police received a report from a female that stated she was followed into the library by a male. She started hollering and he ran out.

Logan Police received a call from someone that believes his computer has a virus on it from Germany. He believes it is a possible terrorist threat.
