Feb. 1, 2002 Utah State University police responded to assist Logan City police with the investigation of a traffic accident at 1850 N. 1000 West. Total damage is estimated at $1,500. USU police responded to assist Logan City police with the investigation of a traffic accident at 1800 N. 1000 West. Total damage is estimated at $7,000.

Feb. 3, 2002 Police responded to a fire alarm in the Widtsoe Building. A belt from an air compressor had caused the alarm.

Feb. 4, 2002 A USU bus received a dent to a center panel as it made contact with a snow bank while turning on the west side of the Fieldhouse. The dent was pushed out and will not need further repairs. A USU front end loader collided with another vehicle while backing in the parking lot on the west side of Aggie Village. The car had a broken headlight and damage to the front fender and bumper. The loader was not damaged. Police talked to a student about a person entering their car without their permission. No further action was taken. A gate arm was broken off of a parking gate by an unknown individual. It was found lying in the snow some distance from the parking gate.

Jan. 5, 2002 Police responded to an intrusion alarm at the Taggart Student Center computer lab. The alarm was caused by an employee entering an incorrect code upon entry. The alarm was reset without incident.

Feb. 6, 2002 Police responded to a 911 hang-up call at the Taggart Student Center. No one was found in need of assistance when police arrived. Police responded to the Harrison Museum of Art on a false intrusion alarm.

Feb. 7, 2002 Police responded to a vehicle that had rolled forward and struck a USU vehicle. Police responded to the Stan Laub Center for a medical assist. A student was having breathing problems and was transported to Logan Regional Hospital.

Police responded to Bear River Activity and Skill Center on a medical assist. Logan Fire Department EMTs responded and treated the individual on the scene.

A guest lecturer reported that a lecture was disrupted by an unknown individual. The person interrupted the class and belittled the professor of the class, who was not present, and then left the room.

Police responded to an auto burglary in the West Stadium Parking Lot. A window on the vehicle was broken allowing suspects to steal the stereo, box sub woofer, 24 CDs and the victim’s purse. Investigation is continuing.
