Abortion makes anyone sick
Editor,
This is in response to Cy Martz’s column (Opinion, Jan. 24). What is this “choice” that leftist value over all things that are good? To murder a mistake, to become immune from any consequence, to commit the most selfish, self-mutilating act short of suicide. It is the left’s solution to the greatest “oops,” to chop up the bodies of fetuses and vacuum them out of their barren uterus’s. It is normal to get somewhat sick to your stomach when you learn of the true nature of abortion. You get sick because your human and you have a nature that encourages the preservation of your own kind.
It is essential that we guide each other on principles of dignity, responsibility, compassion and respect for the things that are most important. Where does the heart and health of our country lie? It is in the family. We must respect and promote the family unit as if it were the single most important element for the success of our country. Unlike our leftist friends, we must put more energy into saving the virtue of families than saving a spotted owl or some endangered moss growing under 10 feet of ice in the arctic. My suspicion is directed toward the left side of the political spectrum because of their tendency to idolize those who would bankrupt and destroy a polluting company and the livelihood of its workers, but will not recognize a fetus with any legal consequence. The leftists have rejected there own kind, serving a master that is foreign, ugly and dark. It is leading them ultimately to complete confusion.
The issue of abortion is only evidence of an even greater identity crisis that part of our country is currently experiencing. What do we legally value and what constitutes American values? Leftists have focused their values on the freedom to choose and direct this country as they see fit (i.e. democracy), proclaiming that it is democracy and the freedom to choose that is the savior of American greatness. You cannot reasonably value the process without having any foundation for its continued success or purpose. That would be the epitome of spineless. And in their spineless, confused state, leftists are tossed to and fro with every new idea because they have nothing to stand firm on. Democracy alone is not what makes the United States so great. It is the understanding and respect for natural law that makes it possible for us to maintain and preserve our freedoms through a democratic process. Natural law and reason forbids murdering ones own. We cannot ignore our founding principals and expect democracy, our freedom to choose anything and everything, to save and maintain the American way.
