LBS A plethora of choices
Free baklava is one reason to go to the one-year anniversary of Logan Burgers and Sandwiches, but variety and reasonable prices will keep everyone coming back.
The anniversary party will be held during business hours Oct. 25 and there will be free Greek dessert that day, Manju Oberoi, co-owner of the restaurant said. The restaurant is being remodeled right now, but by the time of the party, it will be done.
The only Greek restaurant in Cache Valley, located at 1085 N. Main, Ste. 103, also serves American and Italian food.
“We have all the things that people want to try and everybody can afford the prices,” Oberoi said.
Creativity is a main ingredient on the restaurant’s menu. Oberoi said they make all of their own dressings, seasonings and sauces, as well as creating new sandwiches.
“We create new sandwiches every day by what customers want,” she said. If a customer asked for a new mix of meat or sauce, they can create a completely new sandwich.
While eating a bacon cheeseburger, customer Buzz Betz said he’s been in the restaurant four or five times since it opened. “It’s great,” he said, “we like it.”
“Lots of people need to come check it out,” Dana Betz said. “They are really quick [getting your order] out.”
The unique menu is packed with choices. With more than 70 meals to choose from, there is no need to have the same thing twice.
Some of the restaurant’s most famous American foods are the Logan Burger and the Philly cheese steak sandwich. Others include a sirloin steak sandwich, chicken bacon and swiss sandwich and the only reuben sandwiches in Logan, Oberoi said. They also offer spicy fries and garlic fries.
Oberoi said they only buy premium meats. Everything is marinated, then sits in the fridge and until they grill.
Under the “fantastic Greek menu,” Oberoi said the gyros and the souvlaki plate are the best. Of course, there is always the baklava for those with a sweet tooth.
“People love our kababs,” she said. There are six kababs, which are simular to pitas to choose from, including chicken, chicken bacon, lamb, shrimp, sirloin steak and pork loin.
Oberoi said they strive to make their meals healthy. There is an entire section on the menu for those looking for something delicious, but also healthy. Those meals all come with a salad and a drink.
For the vegetarians in the group, there is the “Veggie Lovers” section on the menu. This includes a veggie burger, veggie gyro, veggie sub and a veggie swiss pouch, which is made with pita bread.
They have a children’s menu with two meals under $3. Even for the adults, nothing on the menu is more than $6.50.
Spencer DeVilbiss, 20, ate at Logan Burgers and Sandwiches four days in a row. “It’s been very satisfactory,” he said.
Besides the food though, one of the appealing features of the restaurant are the owners themselves. The Oberois have been in the business for 10 years. “We chose the restaurant business because it is our passion,” Manju said.
The restaurant is a family business. The Oberois run it themselves with a little help from their two sons and a few part-time employees.
Sam Oberoi said whatever is served at the restaurant is cooked by him, “but when we’re at home, she cooks. She’s the boss.” In the restaurant, the grill is his area. “I have to rock-n-roll,” he said.
The idea is consistency. “Next time you have that, it will be the same way as before,” Sam said.
The restaurant is open Monday-Saturday, 10:30 a.m. until 9 p.m.
