Time-sucking game site steals attention span
I’m a little nervous to dole out this week recommendation. In a way, I feel like Prometheus because this Web site can give you light; but if you’re not careful you could get burned.
I’m not worried, though. You all seem to be mature and trust worthy.
Obscure references aside, my recommendation for this week, The Lost Vectors, is one to certainly be careful with. The addictive quality of the games to be found has already affected my studies.
You have been warned.
The Lost Vectors are a collection of simple games made by Jason Reinsvold using Flash animation. Reinsvold is a master – he makes his games easy enough to start but difficult enough to keep you from quitting (sounds like an executive from a cigarette company).
The game that got me hooked to visiting the site while I should have been working is Jedi Master. The game has you swinging a light saber around trying to knock lasers back to destroy training droids.
The game is good because it’s comparatively quick and easy to play. This can lead to the thought process: “One more game won’t hurt.” What’s really got me by the attention span right now is Bowmaster, a game which has you firing arrows to hold back the advancing barbarian hordes.
This game requires a bit more thinking and tends to take a lot more time. If you’re like me though, you don’t notice.
Both these games and others can be found at www.lostvectors.com.
