POLICE BLOTTER: Nov. 5 – Nov. 10
Saturday, Nov. 5
• USU Police responded to a report of three male individuals in a disabled car possibly smoking marijuana in the parking lot north of Mountain View Tower and Bullen Hall. Officers contacted the three males who were, in fact, smoking marijuana. All three males were arrested for possession of marijuana.
• USU Police responded to a report of skateboarders doing tricks and filming themselves on the south side of the Business Building. Upon arrival no skateboarders were located in the area.
• USU Police assisted Logan Police with a report of three male individuals prowling around an individual’s house in the Island Neighborhood. Logan Police stopped the individuals and USU Police assisted until the investigation was finished.
Sunday, Nov. 6
• USU Police responded to a drug incident at Mountain View Tower. Police had responded to the tower on another incident and made contact with the individuals inside the room. Police found marijuana, drug paraphernalia, alcohol and prescription drugs inside the room. The two suspects inside the room were arrested.
• USU Police stopped two students in the Big Blue Terrace. The two were playing checkers with bowls on the fourth level of the terrace. The two were identified and released.
Monday, Nov. 7
• USU Police responded to a report of stolen cameras in an office of the Lillywhite Building.
• USU Police responded to a call about a traffic accident in the parking lot south of the Fine Arts Center. One motorist left his contact information on the damaged vehicle.
• USU Police responded to an animal problem at 700 N. 1190 East in Logan. Police found a dead cat on the side of the road and had Animal Control respond to dispose of the cat.
• USU Police responded to a medical incident at the HPER Building. Police made contact with a female patient. The patient was transported to the hospital by medical personnel.
• USU Police responded to a call about a hit and run accident in the University Inn parking lot. An individual’s vehicle had damage to the driver’s door. Police are investigating.
Tuesday, Nov. 8
• Police filed a report for a theft that occurred at approximately 800 E. 840 North. A construction sign was stolen from the area.
Wednesday, Nov. 9
• USU Police collected and destroyed 38.4 pounds of prescription medication that was left in the drug drop box.
• USU Police observed a wood-burning above-ground fire pit at the HURD tent city near the Spectrum. Police advised the owner of the pit to extinguish the fire and said if it was found burning again the person involved would recieve a citation and have his wristband cut off.
Thursday, Nov. 10
• USU Police responded to the Merrill-Cazier Library for a report of graffiti in a restroom. Photos were taken and the rooms were cleaned up. Staff are going to monitor the area closer.
