Police blotter, Oct. 15

Oct. 5, 2001 The Cache County Sheriff’s Office reported that a 53-year-old male was run over with a front-end loader at a Gravel Pit.

An individual called the Sheriff’s Office to report a person in a blue truck was stealing her animals.

The Logan City Police reported that a lady complained her daughter missed her first hour class.

Logan City Police received a report from employees at the Foothill Mart at 1436 N. 1200 East that a “very suspicious” 50-year-old male was in the bathroom for 30 minutes with a suitcase and a bucket with half of a watermelon in it. The individual was asked to leave the store.

Employees at the Science and Technology library informed Utah State University Police a cat had wandered into the building. Police responded and picked up the cat for loitering. The Sheriff’s Office reported a large flock of sheep broke through a fence.

Oct. 7, 2001 Police received a report of a possible intoxicated individual. The person was contacted and found not to be intoxicated but was cited for being a minor in possession of tobacco.

Police received a report of a possible child abuse case. Police are investigating concerns of a mother that her baby is not being cared for properly.

Police responded to Bullen Hall on a report of trespassing. The resident of the apartment reported that around 1 a.m., two men entered the apartment with a camera and stated they were taking pictures of girls for a psychology class. Police searched the area but the men were not found.

Oct. 8, 2001 Police received a report of two woodpeckers in the atrium of the Space Dynamics Lab. Animal control was called.

Police responded to Mountain View Tower on the report of a possible firearm being shot from the building. A student was found with a potato gun. The device was confiscated and the student will be referred to Student Services and USU Housing.

Oct. 9, 2001 A leather pouch containing ammunition was found in Mountain View Tower and turned into the police. Oct. 11, 2001 Logan Police reported that a 16-month-old child had a plastic kettle stuck on her head.

USU Police responded to Aggie Village on a report of two individuals sitting in a car for a long period of time. The complainant stated that this occurrence has been going on for some time. Police found the occupants of the vehicle and found everything to be fine.
