Prescott named top Aggie

Julie Ann Grosshans

Utah Statesman: How does it feel to be the Utah State athlete of the week?

Steve Prescott: It’s surprising. I didn’t really think about it.

US: What are your predictions for the NCAA Regionals in Provo on Nov. 10?

SP: We’re going to take second. We have to take second.

US: Why not first?

SP: First is pushing it because we have the No. 1 ranked team in our region. It would be pretty tough to get first. Second is kind of hard to get but we can do it.

US: Talk a little bit about the closeness of the top finishers on the team.

SP: The best part about the team is we are so close together. Not only running wise but we have a lot of fun together, too. When you see your teammates right next to you when you’re running it encourages all of you to do better. When you have fun outside of running it’s good too.

US: How does it feel to be nationally ranked?

SP: We should be higher. It’s good, though. We’re really excited.

US: What are your hobbies outside of running?

SP: Costume art. I also like to do wood work. I do a lot of computer work. I love rock climbing.

US: What is the best movie you’ve seen recently?

SP: The Others. It’s got a twist to it.

US: Yankees or Diamondbacks?

SP: I don’t know. I’m not into sports that much.

US: If you could meet anyone dead or alive who would it be and why?

SP: MacGyver. He can do anything.

US: What is your major?

SP: Computer science.
