•Hunger and Homelessness Awareness week. Come learn about community and global poverty issues. Monday through Thursday, Food & Clothing Drive, Nov. 12 wear orange ribbons to support hunger prevention. Nov. 13 Poverty speaker 2 p.m. (bring pair of used socks), TSC, Room 336. •Love to get into the back country come wintertime? USU Yurt opening for winter. Reservations USU Outdoor Recreation Center beginning Nov. 27, 10 a.m. Yurt is four miles up the Blind Hollow Trail in Logan canyon and features eight bunks, a wood burning stove, and a modified kitchen. Rates are $100 per night for weekends and holidays, $65 for weeknights, plus a $50 fee per trip that covers guide and maintenance services. Details ORC at 797-3264.

•Wilderness First Aid, Jan. 12 and 13, 2002. Introduction to First Aid and patient care in remote settings. Earn certification from Wilderness Medicine Institute, and the institute of NOLS.
