Police Blotter: News from the campus and community
Feb. 13
* Utah State University campus police received a report from a student that he had received several parking tickets on a previously owned vehicle he sold months ago and forgot to take the license plates. Police are investigating.
* A passerby reported he had witnessed a hit-and-run traffic accident in the Chase Fine Arts Center parking lot. The complainant stated that a silver Ford SUV collided with an unattended red vehicle. Police are attempting to find the drivers of both vehicles that were involved.
Feb. 14
* Campus police issued several parking citations to vehicles parked in the lane of travel that enters the Parking Terrace on 700 North.
* Campus police responded to a report of a male individual in the women’s restroom at the Spectrum.
Feb. 15
* Campus police received a report that a student’s vehicle was written on with foam while parked on campus. Police are investigating.
Feb. 16
* Campus police stopped a vehicle with registration that expired in Aug. 2003. The vehicle was impounded and police gave the driver a ride back to his residence.
Feb. 17
* Campus police took a report of two individuals taking photographs of Loomis Fargo personnel in the Taggart Student Center. Police determined that the individuals were taking pictures for a class project and did not intend to be suspicious and cause alarm.
Feb. 18
* Campus police assisted Logan City police in an investigation involving underage drinking at a party in Logan.
* An individual reported seeing lumber fall out of a vehicle at 800 E. 1000 N. The lumber was reported to be blocking the roadway. Police responded to the area, but found no lumber.
* Campus police responded to the report of an individual causing a problem at a petition signing event. The individual could not be identified and no further action was taken.
* Campus police responded to a disturbance in the Taggart Student Center. Two individuals were having a heated discussion. One individual was cited for disorderly conduct.
* Campus police responded to a report of individuals throwing snowballs into the road causing vehicles to stop. Upon arrival, several individuals ran into Bullen Hall. The suspects were not caught.
* During the USU/UC Riverside basketball game two fans were removed from the game for disruptive behavior.
