OUR VIEW: Take down fliers

One of the many things that make the college experience here in Logan so great is the beautiful campus we all have to enjoy. USU’s small army of groundskeepers works hard to keep our school looking wonderful.

Another highpoint of Aggie life is the seemingly endless supply of activities provided by both USU-based and independent organizations.

These activities provide fun for those who attend and great experience for those who organize them, but they can also make our campus a dirtier place.

Having a regular college student’s budget, many activity coordinators rely on a myriad of Xeroxed flyers to be hung up around campus.

These flyers are effective in both getting the word out and saving people money. The only thing they don’t do is take themselves down after everything is all said and done.

What starts as a helpful reminder before an activity turns to litter immediately after the event they promote.

We understand all responsibility is lost by organizers in the case of hand-outs because they have no control over what happens to those fliers once placed in someone else’s hands. But in the case of pin-ups, the situation can be easily controlled.

To everyone who puts on an activity, we appreciate you making USU a more fun place to go to school. Help keep it beautiful by taking down your flyers.

We acknowledge there are many to which these words are unnecessary. To those of you who do clean up after yourselves – thank you.
