USU student wants monkeys for slave labor

Utah Statesman: What’s your favorite thing about Utah State?

Jace Hill: I like the weather, it’s nice up here. I’m more of a winter person, so I think I’ll be OK with it. I’m closer to home. Far enough to be away and do what I want, but still go home if I need something.

US: Why did you decide to come to Utah State?

Hill: My dad came here and I got the Dean’s scholarship. It wasn’t much, but it was enough to convince me to come here.

US: If there was one thing this campus needs, what would it be?

Hill: A bigger gym. I went to the gym last night and it was a joke.

US: Do you have any obscure talents or hobbies?

Hill: Not really, I rodeo. We’ve always had horses and my grandpa did professional rodeo when he was younger. It’s kind of always been in my family.

US: Which superhero do you think you most relate to?

Hill: I’d go with Superman. He gets a lot of chicks. Not that I do, but I wouldn’t mind that though.

US: What was the worst thing you did in elementary school?

Hill: I stuck my tongue to a pole. They called the fire department. It upset me for life.

US: What are your feelings on Michael Jackson?

Hill: I think he should be in jail. That’s a little critical – he’s weird. I don’t like him. He’s sings good, but he’s a weird dude.

US: Have you ever won a trophy?

Hill: We took state in football, that was a team thing. I’ve won buckles – that’s the same thing as a trophy in rodeo.

US: How do you feel about flip-flops in the winter?

Hill: If you can tough it out, you can wear them. I wouldn’t do it.

US: What is your deepest, darkest and most irrational fear?

Hill: Actually getting caught in an avalanche skiing. And not being knocked unconscious. I’m really claustrophobic.

US: You hate it when teachers….

Hill: Can tell that you’re daydreaming and they ask you a question. I hate that.

US: How many times have you changed your major … in the two weeks that you’ve been here?

Hill: I’ve already changed it once in two weeks.

US: What do you want to do with your life?

Hill: I want to get a PhD. in something. I don’t really know what. I just want to be a doctor of some kind. I figure I’ve got plenty of time to decide what.

US: If you were a superhero, would you use your powers for good or evil?

Hill: Evil. You get girls.

US: If you had a choice between a real magic carpet and $10 million, which would you take and why?

Hill: $10 million. I would rather buy a really nice car and drive around – and you could buy a jet.

US: If you had an unlimited supply of monkeys, what would you have them do?

Hill: I would train them to mow the lawn and work – slave labor.

US: What is your favorite class so far at USU?

Hill: Chemistry. I’m not taking any fun classes.

US: Do you prefer morning or afternoon classes?

Hill: Morning. I study better in the morning. I wake up, go to class, go home and sleep.
