LETTER: Don’t label a group by religion

Dear Editor,

This is in reference to the article “USU students, faculty debate wisdom of US attack on Afghanistan” published on Sept. 19. The article included the comment “I think their religion is screwed up if they want to injure innocent people.”

My first reaction was disbelief, later turning into anger. Labeling a religion or a nation based on the actions of a selected group can never be rationalized. It was very disappointing to see such a biased comment could be published. Everyone has the right to have an opinion, but I expect only the reasonable ones to be given space in The Statesman.
