OUR VIEW: Get off your Aggie and get involved

Forget the homework. Forget the paper that is due next week. Forget the normal college routine and let’s get involved in homecoming week. Let’s show our Aggie spirit!

With the theme United by Tradition: Once an Aggie, Always an Aggie, let us show our Aggie pride and get involved. What kind of college memories do we expect to have if we spend all our time cramming in the library? Each of us decided to become an Aggie for different reasons but we all have one thing in common: we love our school and what it offers to us.

This week, the Homecoming volunteers have worked hard to make this year’s tradition unlike the rest.
The Paint Dance Monday evening is one of the newer events that cannot be missed. What is more fun than jumping up and down to the latest music while being covered in paint? When else do you get the opportunity to throw a cup of paint in the hair of your roommate who has been eating all your food throughout the semester? Go unleash some anger and enjoy the paint.

Another fun event will be Wednesday night at the Mr. USU pageant. There is nothing better than watching men parade on stage while singing, dancing and basically providing you with enough entertainment for the rest of the week.
Friday is the night everyone loves: True Aggie Night. This year, everyone is encouraged to bring their boyfriend or girlfriend, your next door neighbor or even your secret crush. Come and get in on the action. This is what being an Aggie is all about.

And most importantly, come to the football game and show support to your fellow Aggies. They have worked hard and deserve a stadium of blue yelling for them. Win or lose, they are still Aggies.

And, of course, there’s the Homecoming Dance. Ask that one person you have your eye on all semester. Buck up the courage and end the week on a high note.

Let’s not sit on our Aggie. Let’s get involved and make some real college memories.

Have a fun Homecoming Week.
