BLOTTER: Police news from the Campus and Community

Sept. 30, 2002 An individual told USU police he saw a pedestrian struck by a vehicle at a crosswalk near the Taggart Student Center. Police responded to the scene but were unable to find the pedestrian. No further action will be taken until the victim comes forward. An individual reported to North Park Police a silver sedan pulled into his driveway, then left.

A Wal-Mart employee reported to North Park Police several kids were skateboarding in the parking lot. They were running into cars and acting like they had been hit. The Cache County Sheriff’s Office reported that one-half mile away from Tony Grove there were multiple vehicle parts all over in the trees.

Oct. 1, 2002 The USU Parking Office reported the theft of a parking boot that had been placed on a vehicle in the CPD meter parking lot for excessive parking citations. The boot was removed and stolen from the vehicle. Police are investigating the incident.

USU Police are investigating a person who paid for two nights of lodging at the University Inn with a bad check.Oct. 2, 2002 A USU employee reported a suspicious incident involving his office being ransacked on several occasions over the last few weeks. Damage to the desk was reported on the last incident. Police are investigating.

Police observed a vehicle driving without its lights on, hit the median on 700 North 680 East. The driver was arrested from DUI, marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. The driver was booked into the Cache County Jail.

Oct. 3, 2002 A USU student reported having been assaulted in the HPER building. Police are investigating the incident.

Oct. 4, 2002 North Park Police received a report of a 10-year-old male who appeared to have been crying.

Logan Regional Hospital reported an individual phoned the E.R, saying he was unhappy with a medical bill and was going to come in and start shooting.
