– Metal Gods: Rock out with the Gods. ’80’s themed party. Field House following the basketball game. $3 with student ID.

•Aggie Blue Bikes is holding a meeting January 26, 5:30 p.m. in TSC 335 to find folks interested in administrating the community’s Bike Rodeo in the spring. It is a great opportunity for community service.

•Dominican Blast-off. Friday January 27, Club NVO 9 p.m. Free dance lessons. Learn how to salsa, merengue, bachata and reggaeton. Contest Afterwards.

•Friday night Activity – “International Ping-Pong Tournament”. Friday Jan. 27th, Institute Cultural Center, 8 – 11 p.m.

•Combined Choir Fireside. January 29, 6 p.m., Logan Tabernacle. Latter-day Voices, Institute Choir and Uplifting Messages.

•USU Hockey vs. Weber State D2 Friday January 27 @ 8 p.m. at the Eccles Ice Center.

•URCO Orientation January 31 and February 1. 4-5 p.m. Old Main 136.

•The Cache Practical Shooters (CAPS) monthly pistol match Saturday January 28th, 9:00 a.m. at the Cache Valley Public Shooting Range, three miles west of Logan on the Valley View Highway. There are six stages in the match. Minimum caliber is 9 mm. Luger.  A required, New Shooter Orientation Class will begin at 7:45 a.m. The match is free to first time shooters or shooters who have not shot with us before. Match fees are $12.00 for members and $17.00 for non- members. Membership is not required.  Eye and ear protection are required and spectators are welcome. •SAA invites all to come Ice Skating at Eccles Ice Center, 2825 North 200 East, North Logan Thurs., January 26, 7 p.m. $3 members $5 non-members

•The 9th Annual Great Backyard Bird Count. February 17-20, no fee or registration required. Join with thousands of others to find out how many birds are being seen in your area and across the continent this winter. • Avalanche Education for Snowmobilers. USU Outdoor Recreation Center is offering an Avalanche Education course for Snowmobilers.  Course runs Jan. 26-28. Cost is $100/USU students, $110/others, and includes textbook and Saturday lunch. Bring and ride your own snowmobile.  Instructed by John Louviere, Dave Kikkert, and Toby Weed.  Call the ORC, 797-3264, for schedule, to register, or with any questions.

• Utah State University Women’s Center Advisory Board is seeking nominations for the “Women Over 65 Achievement Awards.” Women eligible for recognition must reside in Cache Valley, be 65 years of age or older, and have made outstanding contributions to the advancement and equality of life for women on a local, state, or national level. Guidelines are available at the USU Women’s Center, Taggart Student Center, Room 315, or call 797-1728.

• Applications are available for Pinnacle, national reentry honor society. The deadline is Jan. 31. Students should be 26 years of age or older, a junior or senior, have had a 5-year or more gap at some point in their education, have minimum 3.0 overall USU GPA, be involved in campus and/or community activities. a one-time national membership fee of $20 is required.
