BLOTTER: Police news from the Campus and Community

Sept. 13, 2002 USU Police responded to a report of an unauthorized parking near Merrill Hall. A resident complained she had no place to park because cars had illegally parked in the area. Police responded and found no cars in violation, and found plenty of available parking in the lot.

An individual called USU Police to report that he had located his bicycle, which he believes was stolen about one year ago. When police arrived, the complainant reported that the bicycle had been taken while he went inside to make the telephone call.

USU Police responded to a fight at Valley View Tower. Police contacted several individuals who were boxing with gloves. The individuals were advised that even if the fighting was consensual, it was not allowed on campus.

Sept. 14, 2002 USU Police responded to a report of a vehicle rolling into the roadway in the Aggie Village parking lot. Police located the owner and had the car moved.

USU Police responded to Valley View Tower about a traffic sign displayed in a resident’s window. The investigation is continuing. USU Police responded to a report of a vehicle that drove through some of the parking delineators, which had been placed on 800 East for traffic control during the football game, dragging them down the road. The vehicle could not be located, but the delineators were found and returned.

Sept. 16, 2002 USU Police responded to Richards Hall to pick up and dispose of a squirrel that had been hit by a car.

A Logan resident reported a neighbor lady threw dog food and water over the fence into his yard. Sept. 17, 2002 Logan police received a report of individuals loading up decorative rocks into a green truck in front of Washington Federal.

Sept. 18, 2002 USU Police responded to a suspicious incident in the USU Trailer Court. A resident reported that a group of students opened his trailer door, looked in and yelled at him. The individuals then left the area. Police were unable to locate the individuals.

Sept. 19, 2002 A person reported to police minor damage to his vehicle when some wooden boxes were knocked over by a University employee.
