Ballet West Presents “An Evening of Ballet”

Heather Strasburg

Ballet West will present “An Evening of Ballet” Feb. 20 at the Kent Concert Hall in the Chase Fine Arts Center. The show will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Three 20th Century choreographers will be represented. A new rendition of Ballet West founder William Christensen’s, “Nothin’ Doin’ Bar” will be performed as will Anthony Tudor’s “Lilac Garden” and George Balanchine’s “Who Cares?”

Christensen’s ballet is about a night out at the Nothin’ Doin Bar, while “Lilac Garden” is about a young woman named Caroline trying to avoid a marriage of convenience. “Who Cares?” is a more energetic ballet with dances set to 16 songs by George Gershwin, including “I Got Rhythm,” and “The Man I Love.”

Ballet West’s, “An Evening of Ballets,” promises to be a delightful night of entertainment for the entire family, presenters said.

Tickets for the event can be purchased at the Utah State University Ticket Office or by calling 435-797-0305. Admission is $15 for adults, $8 for children, and $3 for university students with valid ID.
