•Fundraiser for earthquake victims in India Feb. 10, noon to 4 p.m., The Persian Peacock (downtown Logan). For a $5 minimum donation receive a Henna (Mehndi) body decoration. Mehndi is a 5000 year old art form using a henna powder to decorate with intricate lace like designs. Designs generally last from 1 – 4 weeks.

•USU Women’s Center Advisory Board is seeking nomination for “Women over 65 Achievement Awards.” Women eligible for recognition must reside in Cache Valley, be 65 years of age or older, and have made outstanding contributions to the advancement and equality of life for women on a local, state or national level. Guidelines are available USU Women’s Center, TSC, Room 310.

•The Mountain West Center for Regional Studies is accepting applications for their Faculty Fellowship. This fellowship is designed to support and recognize an individual faculty member or faculty team in the Humanities, Arts, or Social Sciences for the completion of a pedagogic, scholarly or creative project that will expand our understanding or appreciation of the American Mountain West. •Cache Valley Historical Society monthly meeting will take place Feb. 7, 7 p.m., at the Logan City Building (255 North Main). •Bridgerland Audubon Society monthly meeting Feb. 8, Logan City Meeting Room, 255 North Main at 7 p.m. Educator, Paul Jamison is the featured speaker for February. His presentation is on Fossils of the Bear River Range. Paul will be discussing the paleoecology of the fossilized organisms found in the area, with emphasis on Crinoids. His presentation will include a slide show and a great collections of fossils from the Bear River Range. Everybody is welcome.

a Leche League is an international breast feeding support group that has been around for years. Bring the kids to play. You don’t need to be nursing right now to come. We meet the second Friday of the month (February 9) at 7 p.m. at the Whittier Community Center, Commons room, at 290 N. 400 E, Logan (on the corner of 300 N. and 400 East).
