Aggies teach English to foreign students

Students looking for open non-denominational religious discussions need look no further. Aggies for Christ, a campus-friendly Christian organization, welcomes Utah State University students and Logan citizens to weekday devotionals and Bible studies.

Campus minister Kevin Skidmore heads Aggies for Christ, an outreach arm of the Logan Church of Christ.

“We help people grow in the word of Christ and develop stronger relationships with others,” he said. “[Aggies for Christ] is dedicated to spreading the love of God in the University campus, Cache Valley and the world.”

Informal Bible discussions are held Wednesday mornings at 10:30 in the back of the Hub. In addition, Skidmore leads devotionals in Old Main South, Room 203 on Monday evenings from 7:30 to 8:30.

“All of our group meetings are informal; there’s never any pressure to talk,” Skidmore said. “We’re just looking to be Christians, nothing more, nothing less.”

Aggies for Christ boasts an international flavor, as well. Currently Skidmore is helping numerous foreign students learn English by reading the Bible. He encourages people of all origins to attend meetings.

“For Christians looking for a chance to be involved in a missionary opportunity, this is it,” Skidmore said. “We’re a small group with a big heart.”

Any interested students are also invited to attend the Sunday services of the Logan Church of Christ. Bible class is 10 a.m. Sunday, and regular church services are from 11 a.m. to noon. Sunday meetings are held at the chapel on 240 W. 200 North.
