-USU’s debate team will be holding a public debate in the Taggart Student Center Sunburst Lounge at 12:30 p.m.

-Bike maintenance workshop and overhaul classes. The Outdoor Recreation Center is offering a one-night bike maintenance workshop with Paul Vaslet. 6-8 pm.  Call the ORC to register, or for more info, 797-3264. 

-Nick Spitzer, host of public radio international’s “American Routhes” presents “Rebuilding the ‘Land of Dreams’: Expressive Culture and New Orleans’ Authentic Future” noon, Old Main 225 Reception to follow at the Caine House, 1:30 p.m.

EVENTS:

•Come enjoy an evening of Polynesian culture. The Polynesian Student Union is having their annual Luau Saturday, March 25. Tickets are being sold at the Taggart Student Center.

•The USU Ecology Center and Center for Integrated Biosystems announce two upcoming lectures: Dr. Loren Rieseberg, Professor of Biology at Indiana University presents ‘Plant Species and Speciation’ March 22, 6 p.m. The second seminar ‘The Cultivated Sunflower: Origin, Domestication, and Consequences of Genetic Modification’ will be March 23, 3 p.m. in Natural Resources 105. •Nutrition N.E.W.S. class. Wednesday, March 22. 6-7 p.m. Fieldhouse conference room. Topic: portion distortion and intuitive eating. $2/class or $5 for the 4-week session.

•Focus will be having a Q&A session about the nature of Jesus in room 335 of the TSC. On Wednesday March 29th from 10-1 p.m.

•US Senate Candidate Pete Ashdown and US Congress Candidate Steve Olsen will be speaking March 23, 5 p.m. Old Main room 326. Refreshments will be served.

•Bike Maintenance Workshop. The Outdoor Recreation Center is offering a one-night bike maintenance workshop with Paul Vaslet. Cost is $15, or $10 for USU students. Thursday, March 23rd, 6-8 pm.  Call the ORC to register, or for more info, 797-3264. 

•Bike Overhaul Classes. This series of classes offered Outdoor Recreation Center begins March 23rd and meets Thursdays, 6-8 pm, through April 27th.  Instructor will be Paul Vaslet. Cost is $70, or $60 for USU students.  Call the ORC to register, or for more info, 797-3264.

•For those who have downhill or telemark resort skiing skills and want to get out in the backcountry, the USU Outdoor Recreation Center is offering a day-long course Saturday, March 25th, 8 am.  Cost $25 (USU students $20) Call the ORC to register, 797-3264, or with questions.

•Service project cleaning up Hardware Ranch counts for Dedicated Hunter Program service hours. Meet Saturday April 8th @ 10 a.m. at the University Inn parking lot.

•Help raise money for Wolf Education Program. Mission Wolf concert series-acoustic singers and songwriters. Friday March 24th 7 p.m. Citrus and Sage Free. Saturday March 25th 7 p.m. Simply acoustic II $5 TSC Auditorium concert and raffle. Friday March 31st 7 p.m. Borders Cafe Free.

•Professor Lynne Goodhart’s class on Interdependence: Taking the Natural Step ( LAEP 4900 ) will be hosting a series of filmed talks given at the Bioneers annual national conference in San Rafael. March 24, 12:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts building (FAV) room 221. This event is free and open to the public.

•Thursday March 23, 7-9 p.m. Sci-Tech Library room 154. Northern Utah Caving Association Meeting. For all interested in cave exploration in theLogan Canyon area this spring and summer. For more info contact James Cawley jamesdcawley@hotmail.com

•The Disability Resource Center Spring Reception will be held on March 29th in the University Inn room 101.  Please join us during the hours 1:30-3:30pm.  Light refreshments, music, and good conversation. We would love to see you there. 

•In honor of Women’s History Month, Anesty, One More Down, Bent, A Basic Accomplishment will be playing at Club NVO Friday, March 24, 7:30 p.m. All proceeds go to the women for Women’s International. The cost is $4.
