OUR VIEW: Good night and good luck

Finals.

That’s the last thing on the list for most students now. Except that one thing could entail multiple papers, weighty tests and mammoth final projects. Then there’s clean checks and moving out and figuring out where to live next year.

Don’t panic. This has happened before. You made it through then, and you’ll make it now. Just keep repeating that.

Finals are exhausting, so we wish everyone luck. Try to get some sleep. Eat a little. Shower.

This is the last issue of The Statesman until school starts up again in the Fall. We know we’re relieved. This issue was sent to the printer at 1:30 this morning. We hope this is the last of the late nights for a while.

We didn’t have any particular topic for this week’s Our View. Maybe we could have reminded professors of the meaning of “No Test Week.” But we wanted to take the opportunity to say thanks and goodbye.

To everyone who read The Statesman this year, thanks. To those who wrote letters to the editor and submitted guest columns, we appreciate the input.

To the graduating seniors, congratulations. Send us a note from beyond to let us know the ‘real world’ we’ve been hearing about isn’t so bad.

To those of you who will be returning in the Fall, see you later.

To the professors who hold the fate of so many in their hands, be kind during finals week.

And, in the words of a fabulous movie about journalists, good night and good luck.
