‘Some Enchanted Evening’ all set for nostaligic music

Utah State University’s Chase Fine Arts Center courtyard is the setting for “Some Enchanted Evening,” a dinner concert Thursday, June 7. The event features the celebrated sounds of Larry Smith’s Kicks Band and USU vocalists Becky Foster, Karlee Heaps and Landon Smith. The event begins at 6 p.m.

Anne Marie Wallace, conference coordinator with USU’s University Inn, coordinates the event. She said patrons can enjoy the cool summer shade at the courtyard and a fresh selection of summer cuisine served by USU Catering. The menu includes artisan bread, shrimp cocktail, ginger salmon filet and Mediterranean chicken.

“Patrons can top off the evening with a refreshing island favorite such as a piña colada or another delightful non-alcoholic specialty drink at an attractive cash bar,” Wallace said.

As the sun sets over Logan, the music of Broadway and the Silver Screen from the 1940s, ’50s and ’60s will fill the warm summer air with vocals and music to lift the spirit and gladden the heart, Wallace said. Selections include timeless songs from “South Pacific,” “My Fair Lady,” “Brigadoon” and more.

“This special evening will capture the magic of music and fine food, surrounded by Utah’s northern beauty,” said Wallace. “A unique concert like this highlights the talent and hospitality Logan is known for.”

Tickets are $39 and are available at the USU Ticket Office in the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum and Taggart Student Center until June 4.

In conjunction with the entertainment, the University Inn offers a getaway package for two, including reservations to “Some Enchanted Evening,” a night stay in a beautiful room and a hot catered breakfast the following morning. A package for two is $167.95, before tax, and can be reserved at the University Inn toll free at 800-231-5634.
